Those who failed to keep their New Year’s resolution to quit smoking have another chance to ditch the cigs on February 29 – leap year day, as Lloydspharmacy Stop Smoking Programme offers a free consultation to help smokers quit.

With March around the corner, smokers are being urged to kick the habit on No Smoking Day on March 14. Lloydspharmacy, a popular community pharmacy and healthcare provider in the UK, is offering a free consultation service to help smokers quit for life.

The pharmacy with its smoking cessation programme aims to give smokers another chance to take a step towards a healthier lifestyle and quit smoking for good. Lloydspharmacy, which has over 1,650 pharmacies across the UK, plans to help 57% of customers reach the four week quit target.

The target figures of the pharmacy are much higher than other pharmacies providing the NHS Stop Smoking service, which mostly target 44% customers on an average. The popularity of quit smoking service has helped it gain 700 customers since the start of 2012 nearly.

It may be noted that if smoking cessation support is combined with nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), the chances of quitting smoking increase by four times, compared to the chances of quitting alone.
